Pune: A new digital marketplace aimed at helping farmers and rural businesses make informed equipment-buying decisions, TractorNext, was launched in Pune by G. S. Grewal, President of the Tractor and Mechanization Association (TMA) and a veteran of the agricultural machinery industry.

The platform brings together more than 1,000 products from over 100 Indian and international brands, covering categories such as tractors, agricultural implements, agri-drones, bulldozers, off-the-road (OTR) tyres and other equipment. It seeks to provide buyers with a common platform to explore products, compare options and identify technologies suited to their operational requirements.

As mechanisation becomes increasingly important for improving farm productivity and efficiency, choosing the right equipment remains a challenge for many farmers and rural entrepreneurs. TractorNext aims to address this gap by bringing product information, comparison tools and relevant expertise together, helping buyers assess equipment based on suitability, performance, technology and long-term costs.

Speaking at the launch, Grewal said India has significant potential to expand agricultural mechanisation through greater awareness, improved access to technology and informed equipment choices. He emphasised that digital platforms can help farmers navigate the growing range of available options and select solutions that improve productivity, operational efficiency and profitability.

Beyond buyers, TractorNext also aims to support original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and equipment suppliers by improving their digital visibility and connecting them with prospective customers across regional markets. The platform plans to use local-language communication and targeted market engagement to reach a wider rural audience.

Vishnu Dhas, founder and CEO of TractorNext, said the platform's objective is to simplify equipment selection for India's farming and rural communities, particularly when purchases involve significant investments. He said the marketplace intends to become a reliable source of information, helping buyers understand available technologies and make choices aligned with their specific needs, while enabling manufacturers to engage more effectively with customers.

The launch brought together stakeholders from agricultural machinery, equipment distribution, agri-technology and related sectors. The event also featured Leader as a Coach, a book authored by Grewal that draws on his leadership experience and explores coaching, employee empowerment and continuous learning.

With its focus on equipment discovery and technology awareness, TractorNext seeks to bridge information gaps between manufacturers and rural buyers. The platform enters the market at a time when access to appropriate mechanisation solutions is becoming increasingly important for improving farm operations and supporting the wider rural economy
