Amaravati: A delegation from the Netherlands has shown interest in manufacturing of pulp and panel boards using agro-waste as raw material, on Thursday in its meeting with agriculture minister K Kannababu at the secretariat here.
The project proponent is interested to set up a plant to manufacture pulping and panelboards by utilising the paddy waste by taking establishing pilot plant.
The procurement of waste from agriculturists will be planned to make food packing articles and other packing materials. This technology is the second one in the world and the process will be initiated on the pilot plant with the material available in the area and once the process is successful the pilot plant the same will be commercialised to utilise this type of articles which are a substitute in place of plastics.
This project is useful to help the farmers and production units as well as generating employment to local people. The project is in line with the make in India programme and Government of India to avoid single-use plastics and use nature-friendly products made from agro-waste.
