    Government appoints chiefs of Coffee, Tea Boards

    NEW DELHI: Prabhat Kamal Bezboruah and M S Boje Gowda were today appointed as chairmen of the Tea Board and the Coffee Board, respectively.

    Bezboruah is a leading tea association industrialist and Gowda is a renowned coffee grower.

    The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved their appointments, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.

    Bezboruah will have a tenure till November 1, 2018 and Gowda will be in the post till December 14 2018.

    Kolkata-based Tea Board of India is largely entrusted with regulating tea cultivation and export of tea. The Coffee Board, based in Bengaluru, looks after the interests of the country's coffee growers.
